المهم دوزو
[Taki]Ryuzaki’s not just a simple bad guy, I want to show the way he thinks in a convincing way
[Ryo]Having an abominable power causes a dilemma
[Asami]I think Nagisa has the closest perspective to that of the audience
A demonic man who has “god’s hands,” the ability to cure all diseases and heal all injuries just by the touch of the hand. On the other side, an angelic man who has “the devil’s hands,” the power to take the life of anyone he touches. “Orthros no Inu” is a thriller drama that revolves around the lives of two men who have these contradicting powers.
Takizawa:The guy I act as, Ryuzaki Shinji, is a guy who has a mysterious power and uses people, exposing the ugly emotions that humans possess, someone who you’d tag as “a bad guy.” Point being, he’s full of mysteries.
Nishikido:My role, Aoi Ryosuke, is a high school teacher, he’s a really nice guy. And so because of he’s like that, having an abominable power like that leads to a dilemma for him.
Mizukawa:And Hasebe Nagisa, the police detective whom I act as, is the one who, by chance, finds out about the powers these two have and end up making them meet each other. Nagisa is also a single mother with a daughter who has a disease.
In contrast to the severe storyline, the three are of the same generation and the atmosphere at the filming site is a cheerful one.
Takizawa:I was with Asami-chan once in a variety show before,
Mizukawa:It’s been about five years. It’s the first time we act together though, so I’m looking forward to it.
Takizawa:And it’s been quite a while since I last worked with Nishikido at this proximity~. We used to work together a lot though.
Nishikido:Yes. Takizawa-kun really is an awesome sempai so I get nervous!
Mizukawa:Come to think of it, Nishikido-kun hasn’t been talking much on-site, is that because you’re nervous?
Nishikido:Mm. I’m really scared, he’s right next to me right now too, but I can’t look at his face at all (laughs). But there’s a nice tenseness to the atmosphere isn’t there!
Takizawa:Stop lying! Ah, so today you’re going to take on that kind of character? (laughs)
Mizukawa:So it’s a character!
Nishikido:Ah, no, sorry (laughs). But I’ve come this far with Takizawa-kun’s back always in sight, so being able to work together is a real honor!
The story will develop quickly, much like dramas overseas. What aim does Ryuzaki, the bad guy, have? What will be the destinies of Aoi and Nagisa――?
Takizawa:I think that Ryuzaki isn’t just a simple bad guy. There’s reason to his logic, and I think it’s somehow convincing. I think that evil feelings and ugliness of the heart is something that everyone has inside them, regardless of whether it shows on the surface or not, so in that sense, I think he’s going to be very human.
Nishikido:He does somehow have a cool image. Though Aoi seems like a pretty mediocre guy except for the power.
Mizukawa:But that power’s the whole point of the story (laughs). The story develops with your two characters as the center, but I think that Nagisa has the closest perspective to that of the audience. I want to make it a drama that betrays your expectations in a good sense.
Takizawa:As the mysteries are unraveled, episodes about our
characters will become more interesting; I think it’ll be quite a mature kind of drama!
